Gem for pd - recent progress
In: Proceedings of the 2004 International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), ICMA, Miami, USA.
Gem (Graphics Environment for Multimedia) is a library for Miller S. Puckette's graphical realtime computermusic environment "pure-data", that allows graphics processing based on openGL. While Gem has been available for several years, a lot of significant changes have been made in the recent past.
The number of supported platforms has been expanded to apple's macOS-X. This paper also describes the fundamental changes that have been made to the architecture of Gem, allowing the use of dynamic render-graphs. Furthermore, a brief description of new functionalities in the realms of both image-processing and 3D-rendering will be given.
